Each week students will be coming to art class.  Some assignments may only require one class period while others may be more involved and need two or three classes to complete.  Every assignment is aligned with the NJ State Art Curriculum standards and we encourage students to showcase their work at home or compile it in a personal portfolio.  We will also be working on various themed Holiday and seasonal projects. 

All grades will be working with several mediums such as crayons, markers, color pencils, watercolors, oil pastel etc.

Difficulty levels will vary.

 Lower grades will be introduced to foundational concepts like color theory, line and shape using different art media, art history and famous artists to foster both artistic skill and creative expression in every student.

 Higher grades will take the basics to another level with blending, shading, and composition. Key activities include observational drawing, perspective drawing and creating 2D and 3D sculptures.
