Welcome to 2nd Grade!

Week of 12/1/2025

Please see the flyer below regarding the Toy Drive in honor of Ariella Hopkins. We are hoping to surpass last year's collection of 120 toys. Your donations are greatly appreciated!

Monday, 12/1/25:  

Tuesday, 12/2/25: Today is the St. Nick's Sale. Please be sure to send an envelope with money marked with your child's name and grade on it. Please also send your child in with a re-usable bag to shop with. 

Wednesday, 12/3/25: We will have library today. Please be sure all library books are returned. We will also have gym today. Children should be in their gym uniforms.  We will also be taking our Spelling and Saxon tests.

Thursday, 12/4/25: Today is Comfy Cozy day. All students may dress down for comfy cozy day. Please be sure to follow school dress code for dress down days. No nightgowns, tight fitting pajamas, or slippers / backless shoes allowed. Math Test on 3-digit addition with regrouping.   

Friday, 12/5/25:   Today is the tree trimming. We will be going to Church today. Formal uniforms are required. Children are able to wear Christmas socks with their formal uniforms. Today is also 11:30 am dismissal. 

• Green folders are to be brought to school each day.  This is how the children will bring home important papers and work. Please clean the folders out each day. 

• Please be sure to notify me of any changes to dismissal. You can reach out by email (afornarelli@stbartseb.com) or by sending a message on class dojo. 

• St. Bart's is a nut free school. Please read all labels to be sure all snacks and lunch items are nut-free.  The ingredients of some favorite snacks have changed. Please read all labels. Only water is allowed at snack time. Disposable water bottles are not permitted.  All other beverages can be consumed during lunch time. 

**The front office has asked that children come to school with raincoats fitted with a hood instead of an umbrella on rainy days.  This will help minimize issues at dismissal. **

UPCOMING DATES:

12/10- Two new pairs of Christmas socks due today.

12/12- Christmas Show at 7 pm. All students to attend. 

12/22: Class Christmas party. 

12/23: Christmas Mass hosted by the 2nd grade at 9:45 am. 11:30 am dismissal. THERE IS NO AFTERCARE TODAY. 

12/24-1/2- Christmas Break. 

1/5/26: School resumes

1/28/26: International Night from 6-8pm.
