The History Association has produced a topic guide for Alevel students. Along with articles and information pages, it has videos and podcasts of historians debating the key themes and interpretations of the period. These resources link well to the course and are also excellent for coursework questions.

This website has a large number of lectures by academics on a wide range of hisotry topics. These include a number of lecture series that concentrate on the Tudors, Germany and Russia. To access this, you need to create an account using your school e-mail, and you will be granted access.
This Historical Association has produced a number of "classic" pamphlets over the years on a whole variety of Tudor Topics. Many of these were written by the biggest Tudor Historians. They are also available on the HA website (link above).

The following books will provide you with in-depth analysis that go beyond your A Level textbooks. These are all available in the school library.
Elton was the leading Tudor historian of his time. This book provides an overview of the entire Tudor period and will have information on all of the A Level Topics. You will also find his famous argument that there was a revolution in Tudor Government.
Guy studied under Elton. He provides a similar, more up to date overview of the Tudor period, and moves the argument on from Elton in many ways.
This is useful for gaining sources and interpretations on the Tudor period.
Henry VII and Henry VIII
An excellent narrative account of the reign of Henry VII.
One of the most detailed accounts of the reign of Henry VII.
This is a very redable account of the events and personalities in the Court of Henry VIII.
This is useful for gaining interpretations on royal authority under the reign of Henry VIII.
Useful for gaining in insight into Henry's rule in in the 1540s.
Studies the reign of Henry from the perspective of "The Six Wives".
Mid Tudor Crisis
A readable account of the short reign of Edward.
Gives a sympathetic account of Mary's reign, burnings and all.
A detailed account of Seymour's time as Lord Protector.
A good account of Mary's reign. He gives a revisionist account where he argues that there is continuity in economic and social administration. But he acknowledges that the shaping of a Marian regime was incomplete, and that she exacerbated religious divisions.
Each rebellion is considered individually. Also gives some interpretations on the rebellions as a whole; what did they have in common? Did they decline over time?
