Have your child read with you at their comfortable reading level for 10-15 minutes, and play a game of “Addition Top It!” for 10-15 mins. This is like War, except each player turns over the top two cards in their half of the deck, adds the two numbers together and the player with the highest total wins all four cards. If there is a tie, cards stay on table and the winner of the next round wins all eight cards.
March 17:
Log into www.starfall.com and select a reading activity for 10-15 minutes and discuss the attributes of a rectangle (four corners or vertices, four sides, different sizes, and closed shape). Have your student go on a “Rectangle Hunt”, finding objects that are rectangles. Have him/her draw and color a picture with at least three of their found objects and write names.
March 18:
Draw and color a picture of one of your favorite characters from a story you read and write a sentence describing something you like about him or her and discuss the attributes of a triangle (three corners or vertices, three sides, different sizes, and closed shape). NEW: Father Jim will live stream Mass with us at 9am! Link will follow shortly so that we may all join in prayer! At Noon: Pope Francis invites the world to pray the Our Father. Go outside to pray aloud, together with our global Church family (of course at a safe 'social distance'). Have your child read “How Many?” to you, circle the high frequency words and color neatly inside the lines with 2-3 colors per picture. Play a game of “Subraction Top It!” for 10-15 mins. Instead of adding the two cards, subtract the smaller number from the larger number and the player with the greater total wins the cards.

Religion- Objective: Lent is a time to give to others. Discuss what the child is doing in each picture and write a word or words to describe on the line. “Giving to others reminds us of what Jesus gave us” page attached.
