Class News

Religion

Students will start the 8th commandment, Thou shall not covit thy neighbor's wife. They will continue to learn the deeper meaning of this commandment this week.

ELA

Students will identify and analyze the setting of a play based on the story of Rip Van Winkle.

They'll compare and contrast two settings. The settings from the past and in the present.

Then they'll write a narrative that compares the present and the past.

Math

This week we will go further into division. We'll start by practicing to divide a number by a 2-digit divisor, learn about and solve using the distributive property, and multiply a 3-digit by a 2-digit number.

Social Studies

In Social Studies students are studying the Southwest Region. They are learning about the early culture of the Navajo and the Navajo life today. We'll end the week discussing the Spainish influence that is seen in the SW Region.

Science

Students are currently exploring sound. They completed a Mystery Science activity that demonstrates sound is a vibration. They will continue to study sound with more exploration.
