6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Vocabulary-

 This week we will complete spelling and definition test for Unit 2, and begin learning words for Unit 3.

 Definition and spelling test over Unit 2 words will be on Tuesday 9/29 (changed from Thursday 9/24).

6th Grade Reading- Students will continue reading the novel "Maniac Magee" by Jerry Spinelli. Skills will include: story vocabulary, figurative language, characterization, theme, and summarizing.

7th Grade Reading-Students will complete a test on the story, "A Day's Wait" by Ernest Hemingway and begin reading the story, "Barrio Boy" by Ernesto Galarza.  Skills will include:  story vocabulary, compare/contrast, subjective and objective writing, and figurative language.

8th Grade Reading-Students will begin reading the story, "Flowers for Algernon" by Daniel Keys.  Skills will include:  story vocabulary, context clues, personification, symbolism, and inferencing.
