This week in religious education:
This is our final few days of class and the students are ready for a summer break! Although they think they should be able to just relax and play we as parents and teachers have a better idea of what the next two days should be about.
I will be introducing the sacrament of Confirmation to the 6th grade students in order for the students to begin to discern on receiving the sacrament in two years. It may seem like a long way away, however the next two years will fly by just like this year did! There maybe students that are not going to receive the sacrament for several different reasons, however the catechesis on all sacraments is essential for all of us to continue to study so that we may grow in our vocation and continue to evolve in our discipleship.
7th grade students will take an assessment on the many different areas of confirmation as well as early Christian life (Moses, commandments, etc.) and mass. All play an important role in who we are and what we are called to do. Early Christian life and the people that set examples for us, and the importance of Mass and how it is necessary for us to fulfill our call of discipleship.
6th and 7th grade students will get a small but great introduction to Pope Leo's first encyclical on AI. I am looking forward to the class discussions on this one!
As the school year comes to a closing, I would like to take this opportunity to "Thank You," for entrusting your children to me in my role as their religious education teacher. It is a role I take very seriously as we journey towards heaven together.
Have a beautiful week and a blessed summer!
See you at the Eucharist!
