Classroom updates:
We will continue in our chapters and enjoy a great week celebrating "Catholic Schools Week!"
6th grade will continue to travel with Moses and the Isralites in chapter 9, learning about the challenges, trials, and tribulations they faced on the journey in the desert. We will see what happens when their faith is tested and they grow leary in trusting God and His promises. We will see how Moses reacts to their weakness and disobedience. The best news is God will take care of everything! He will give them the Ten Commandments, manna from heaven, water to quench their thirst, and the Ark of the Covenant.
7th grade will be recovering from their first experience of taking midterms, so I think this will be a welcomed week! We will jump into chapter 8 in our text books and dive deeper into the Infancy Narrative, and the promise of God sending a savior. We discussed the importance of making promises and how important it is to keep them, however there are times promises are broken for good reasons.
8th grade will begin chapter 8 in the text books and discover the challenges the church faced in the past. Each student will present a different heresy that the church faced and how important the church councils played in addressing such heresies. We will look at the Council of Nicaea where more than 200 bishops were present in the year 325CE (common era) recognizing this is the creed (what we believe) that is said in our mass today.
Have a beautiful week embracing all the blessings from God, especially the truth that all life is a gift! (From Fr. Jim's homily!)
