All incoming grade 1 students should read "The Kindness Quilt". Students should complete the activity that goes along with the book. 

Required Reading:

Assignment:

1. Read the book The Kindness Quilt by Nancy Elizabeth Wallace.  

2. Talk about the kind things the children did for others.  

3. Over the summer, do something kind for someone in your family or in your community.  

4. Create a kindness quilt square about your kind act. Use  words and pictures! You can use any materials you would like…crayons, markers, cut paper…anything! Just try to fill the whole space with color and be creative!
