Mrs. Bennett will conduct classroom guidance sessions in career exploration, interest inventories, and career decision-making in high school classes. Last year, all high-schoolers learned about career exploration and the importance of GPAs for future opportunities.

SCS 2026 Governor's School Nominees

Noah is representing SCS in the area of Social Science, and Ally is representing SCS in the discipline of Dance. Both have completed the application and received two outstanding letters of recommendation in applying to NC Governor’s School. If they are accepted, they will attend a four-week summer session with other gifted 11th grade students from NC schools on either the Meredith College or Greensboro College campuses. They will attend ungraded courses with leading professors and stay in dorms, enjoying a taste of college life. It is a great opportunity, only awarded to the top students in the state who are nominated by their schools. Mrs. Bennett led a chapel talk on Relationships in the Bible for middle and high school. Please talk to your students about the importance of confession and apology in restoring trusting relationships.
