Training Overview
The CII Triage Overview training introduces surveyors and non-surveyors to the updates to Chapter 5—Complaint Procedures of the State Operations Manual (SOM) and enhances surveyors’ overall ability to recall and comply with the changes to Chapter 5.
Target Audience
This training is designed for surveyors of nursing homes who need to gain basic knowledge of the Complaint Procedures process, policies, and requirements for CMS.

This course will provide infection prevention and control (IPC) training for individuals responsible for IPC programs in nursing homes so they can effectively implement their programs and ensure adherence to recommended practices by front-line staff. The course will include information about the core activities of an effective IPC program, with a detailed explanation of recommended IPC practices to prevent pathogen transmission and reduce healthcare-associated infections and antibiotic resistance in nursing homes. Additionally, this course will provide helpful implementation resources (e.g., training tools, checklists, signs, and policy and procedure templates).

GG sprang upon us in 2014 with the Impact Act as a method to gather the same baseline and DC data on self-care and mobility across all post-acute settings. This was first enforced through a process penalty for incompleteness (GG dashes), then swiftly progressed to the primary driver of PT/OT and nursing reimbursement under PDPM in a SNF setting.
Fast forward to today and GG has stepped into QRPs, OBRA assessments and, in several states, Medicaid reimbursement. During this webinar, we’ll dive into readiness and strategies for accurate capture in a world with increased focus on GG, impacting our clinical and financial story.
