This month, the Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health in Nursing Facilities (COE-NF) will host a three-part series of virtual one-hour sessions. The sessions are FREE to attend!  

Now is your chance to learn industry best practices from other nursing facilities and behavioral health subject matter experts. With the support of COE-NF behavioral health specialists, you will be able to implement the learnings in your facility. 

Who Should Attend:

This series will improve the behavioral health knowledge and skill set of all staff working in CMS-certified nursing facilities across the United States. 

Series Topics: 

• Part 1: Incorporating BH & SUD into Individualized Assessment & Person-Centered Care

• Part 2: Engaging with Residents: Effective Communication Skills

• Part 3: De-Escalating Aggressive Behavior and Crisis Situations with Residents

Benefits of Attending:

• Learn from Experts and Peers: Gain valuable insights from subject matter experts and peers across nursing facilities nationwide.

• Improve Resident Care: Enhance your care planning processes, communication skills, and de-escalation strategies for residents with serious mental illness and substance use disorders. 

• Apply Learnings: Receive support from the BHAN Education Team and your Regional Behavioral Specialist (RBS) to implement strategies directly in your facility. The series is designed to meet the needs of leadership and interdisciplinary staff members and facilitate better resident outcomes.

• Earn Continuing Education Credits: Receive 1.0 credit hours of CME and/or NAB for each session.
