The HR Academy

The HR Academy is designed as a positive learning experience that gives you the tools you need to succeed in your human resource role.

Welcome to the
Colorado HR Academy

The Colorado HR Academy strives to provide statewide agency human resource teams what they need most to continue to be effective and thrive.

There are 2 parts to each lesson: Learning & Application

Each HR Academy class is designed with multiple self-paced lessons. The classes are to be completed by pacing yourself to one learning component and the corresponding application component each week. Each lesson will take about 2 hours each week. Some will be longer, most will be shorter. By completing the lesson each week, then most classes will be completed in 3 weeks.

We would recommend that you designate a time to take the class. Make it a meeting on your calendar, on a designated day, at a designated time.

Learning & Application are now both in COTRAIN

COTRAIN is the training and registration system used by the Center for Organizational Effectiveness (COE) & the HR Academy for statewide training. Once you have create an account, you will be able to access the HR Academy's library of training by simply typing "HR Academy" in the COTRAIN search bar, then selecting a class to launch.

Once you have completed a class, you will also be able to print out a Certificate of Completion.

If needed, HERE is how to set up or confirm your CO TRAIN account.

Complete LEARNING each week.

This is where you will read the learning content and watch any relevant videos. It has been designed to take about an hour of your time and is to be completed by end of business on Friday of each week.

Complete APPLICATION each week.

This is where you will answer weekly assignments, discussion questions (or DQs), case studies, write papers, or create projects. It has been designed to take about an hour of your time and is also expected to be completed by the end of business on Friday each week.

And just a note on Evaluation or Grading.

Meeting the course requirements that we have just covered will result in a “Pass” grade for the class. Failure to meet course requirements by the stated deadlines can result in a “Non-Pass” grade.
