Walking Mountains Science Center’s mission is to awaken a sense of wonder and inspire environmental stewardship and sustainability through natural science education. Walking Mountains’ LEED Platinum environmental learning center is a sustainability education resource for residents and visitors in Eagle County. Walking Mountains recently expanded their campus to include an additional LEED Certified Center for Sustainability which is a model of fossil fuel free buildings in the community.

Corporate Social Responsibility
Member of the Green Business Programs Group, which discusses best practices across many business sustainability certification programs across the state of Colorado.
Mentor many western slope businesses for ELP recognition.
The Eagle Valley Outdoor Movement connects our under served populations to the outdoors through free programming
Participate in the Eagle River Watershed Council's Highway Cleanup, the Eagle River cleanup, and two annual Adopt-A-Trail workdays
Partner with local neighborhoods, to provide waste and recycling education and resources
Offer scholarships to youth wanting to participate in our natural science summer camps, and free after school programs in the fields of STEM and Girls in Science.
Earned Wired Workplace designation for providing 4 Level 2 EV charging stations that are entirely free, for employees and the public.
