Trane Manufacturing Plant in Pueblo manufactures commercial water chillers for air conditioning and industrial process markets. Trane’s chillers are leading the industry in efficiency and quality. Trane Pueblo’s 400 employees are helping to reduce the facility’s impact on the environment by conserving energy, water and reducing land fill waste. Trane’s 2015 metrics include:

Responsible Energy & Greenhouse Gas Reduction

• • Phased out high VOC chemicals and piloted various VOC-free alternatives.

  • Eliminated VOC emissions by improving equipment operation and controls/filtration.

  • Reduced diesel fuel and propane usage by optimizing forklift routes and adding electric forklifts.

Waste Minimization & Diversion

• • Diverted more than 80,000 lbs of material to the landfill through recycling.

Water Conservation & Quality

• • Upgraded to air-cooled chillers which allowed for elimination of a cooling tower.

Corporate Social Responsibility

• • Participated in road clean-up on Pete Jimenez and are support the new 'Pick Up Pueblo' efforts started by the City Parks and Rec department.

  • Coordinated several clothing and food drives and volunteered at the local homeless shelters.

  • Supported Resource Central's 'ReNew Our Schools' program in Pueblo, funded by the Colorado Energy Office. This program aims to reduce the energy impact of surrounding schools and aimed to further integrate environmental topics within the students’ curriculum.
