The City of Fort Collins Streets Department maintains a 557-centerline-miles street network. Services include street maintenance and paving, street sweeping, and snow removal. In addition, a recycling/crushing facility processes and recycles concrete and asphalt for re-use on public and private projects.

Responsible Energy & Greenhouse Gas Reduction

    • 18.7% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions since 2005

    • Purchased CNG and electric vehicles/equipment.

Waste Minimization & Diversion

    • Diverted 424,584,747 pounds of asphalt, concrete and soil from the landfill by processing for reuse.

    • Diverted 100% of the City’s yard debris from the landfill for composting.

Water Conservation & Quality

    • Replaced fixtures and repaired sprinklers for irrigation.

Corporate Social Responsibility

    • Held community e-waste event and household waste collection.

    • Participate in environmental clean-up projects in the community.

    • Partner with local wildlife groups to divert roadkill.

    • Encourage employees to use an in-house "Recycling Row" program for personal household items.
