Responsible Energy & Greenhouse Gas Reduction

• • Reduced air emissions through installation of a paratherm system which utilizes heat transfer fluid instead of utilities in reactor jackets.

  • Reduced ethyl acetate solvent emissions through use of a closed system process.

  • Minimized cylinder swaps to help eliminate potential for hydrochloric acid or other toxic gas release.

  • Treated non-contact waste water onsite in thermal oxidizer which eliminated fuel usage associated with transportation.

  • Installation of catalytic thermal oxidizer to control VOC emissions.

  • Replacement of older vacuum pumps with newer models that are better able to control distillations and reduce emissions.

Waste Minimization & Diversion

• • Reduced waste by 10%.

  • Recycling of cardboard with the installation of a compactor.

Water Conservation & Quality

• • Reduced total suspended solids in storm water below regulatory requirements.

  • The reduction in waste water via onsite treatment is being evaluated.

  • A solvent recovery and reuse project is in the planning phase.

  • Installation of rip-rap in stormwater conveyances and a paving project is expected to reduce stormwater run off.

Corporate Social Responsibility

• • Contributed to Ocean Conservancy and Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.

  • Held annual BSC Golf Tournament to support local Humane Society.

  • Participated in 2019 Advances in Polyolefin Conference and 2019 Japan-U.S. Symposium on Polymer Synthesis where environmental issues are addressed.
