We had the fire department come and visit us at school! We learned all about the fire truck, the fire suit firefighters wear as well as smoke alarms. 

In Social Studies, we’ve been learning about American symbols. So far, we’ve studied the White House, the Liberty Bell, the Washington Monument, and now the Statue of Liberty!

Here are a few fun facts we’ve learned about the Statue of Liberty:

• • It is a symbol of freedom

  • It was a gift from France to the United States

  • It is located in New York City

  • It stands over 500 feet tall

  • It is made of copper

  • It was originally brown, but over time, it has turned green due to weathering

We practiced finding the setting, characters and the beginning, middle and end of a story. 

We started learning about fall and made some leaves to put around our room.

We planted grass in a cup to make hair for our Johnny Appleseed we made with our buddies

We started learning about Johnny Appleseed with our book buddies this week! We watched a video about Johnny Appleseed and then read and colored in a little book together. We will continue to learn about Johnny Appleseed and do an activity this up coming week with out book buddies!

We had STUFFY DAY on Friday! We had a lot of fun learning with our stuffies all day! There were a lot of smiles and laughs all day.  :) 

On Friday our book buddies came to our room. They read a book to us and then together we made bookmarks based off the book they read to us.
