Dear Students and Parents,
My name is Mr. Volpe and I am very excited about working with you this year! For those of you who don't know me, I have been teaching at Starpoint for 30 years. When I first started teaching at Starpoint, I taught all the 4th grade beginners. In 2011 I moved up to the High School and created the Concert Band and the Wind Ensemble. This will be is my 8th year working with 8th Grade Band. I also conduct the High School Wind Ensemble and teach Music Technology and AP Music Theory. Trumpet is my primary instrument but I also enjoy playing other band instruments during lessons. I really look forward to getting to know you in lessons and in band rehearsals. As your new director, I really want band to be FUN! Music is a gift and I hope the music we create in band will bring joy to your life! I really look forward to getting to know you in our rehearsals and lessons. WELCOME BACK TO BAND! If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me.
