Welcome to Star of the Sea - our adult Family Home: Where Care Meets Compassion
Our journey began with a deeply personal experience. We witnessed firsthand the challenges of managing and caring for our close family and friends, from wound care to end-of-life care. We faced the heart-wrenching struggle of finding a home that met the level of care our loved ones deserved. Unfortunately, the lack of suitable healthcare facilities forced us to place our loved ones in environments that never felt like home. It was heartbreaking to see how isolated and desolate they became in such settings.
Lester, having worked extensively in Home Health services, encountered numerous patients who needed better care but were unable to receive it. Each visit left him with a profound sense of sadness and a growing conviction that there had to be a better way. The need for high-quality "adult family homes" became glaringly apparent.
We knew that achieving our ambitious goal would require unwavering family support. Though the journey wouldn't be easy, our commitment to the cause was greater than we could ever imagine. After much reflection and prayer, our family embraced the mission to provide better care for our community with open hearts.
