About the teacher

About Me:

My name is Sara Walter and this is my 13th year of teaching. I grew up in Decorah, IA and attended college at Augustana in Sioux Falls, SD. While at Augustana I doubled majored in Mathematics and Secondary Education with an Augustana endorsement in middle school. I taught in western Iowa for six years, three years in high school and three years in middle school, before coming to Starmont. I have been married to my husband Todd for 12 years and we are very happy to be in Eastern Iowa. We have a daughter named Ariella who will be in 2nd grade at Starmont this fall, and a son named Jamin who will be four in November. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I especially enjoy playing board games and cards games. One of my favorite card games to play is 500. Since my family is spread out across the country, I make the most of the time when I get to see them. My favorite teams are the Minnesota Vikings, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Minnesota Twins.
