As a founding partner of Starfish vILT, Liam Abramson channels 30 years of global experience into developing dynamic, high-impact leaders. He works closely with mid- to senior-level executives across a diverse range of industries, helping them navigate complexity, drive performance, and cultivate effective teams.
Liam’s expertise is both deep and broad, focusing on the core competencies that define modern leadership. He specializes in shaping high-performing sales teams, enhancing performance management systems, and sharpening skills in negotiation, customer service, and conflict management. As an executive coach, he equips individual leaders with the tools and techniques to elevate their coaching abilities, lead through change, foster diversity and bias awareness, and communicate with greater impact.
Liam’s career began with a unique passion for aviation. Starting in airfield operations, he became an avid pilot and has spent three decades consulting within the sector, working with over 5,000 leaders at giants like Airbus Industries, Pratt & Whitney, and GE Aerospace. This deep industry knowledge provides a unique foundation for his understanding of complex, high-stakes operational environments.
The scale of his impact is evident in the global projects he has designed and facilitated in more than 20 countries. Notable engagements include developing over 2,000 high-potential leaders at Schlumberger, training 1,000 leaders at BP, and coaching executive-level leaders at Fresenius and Standard Chartered Bank. A pioneer in virtual training, Liam brings over 20 years of experience in the medium, personally facilitating approximately 400 virtual instructor-led sessions each year.
Underpinning this work is a robust set of credentials; Liam is a certified facilitator for Management Research Group (MRG), Extended DISC, Situational Leadership II, and the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI). Born in South Africa, he lived in the United Kingdom for 28 years, where he graduated from both the Royal College of Music and the University of Buckingham Business School before beginning his career as a Business Studies university lecturer.
Beyond his professional life, Liam is deeply committed to his community. He is a past president of a Business Networking International (BNI) chapter and has served on the boards of several arts organizations, including the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra and Evergreen Music and Arts. As a hike leader for Team in Training, he helped raise over $200,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
