General Information
REQUIREMENTS
Studens must have their permits by the start of the session. No exceptions.
COURSE MATERIALS
Textbook: All students must have a textbook as soon as possible. The textbook is “How to Drive” The Beginning Driver’s Manual published by AAA. 14th edition. They may be purchased for $25. We will also may use a number of brochures published by AAA.
CLASS STRUCTURE
Each class consists of the following:
1.5 hour classroom instruction
1.5 hour on the road driving instruction
ATTENDANCE POLICY
Attendance: Perfect attendance is necessary to meet NY State requirements for certification.
DRIVING CLASSES (ON THE ROAD INSTRUCTION
Driving classes are extremely difficult to make up. Always speak with your Driving and Lecture Teacher first if an absence is necessary and must occur. If an absence is due to serious illness, we will do our best to assist you. ALL CLASSES MUST BE MADE UP. There may be an extra fee charged if necessary to cover the cost of a driving class if it needs to be made up.

Anthony’s for the most updated information If St. Anthony’s is closed Driver Ed. is cancelled. This information may also be obtained from local news sources.
PARENT PRACTICE
Parents, please remember that practicing with your child is a very important part of this program so that proper driving skills can fully develop.

SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION AND CERTIFICATE MV-278
Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive (in the mail) their MV-278 certificate no earlier than two weeks AFTER the last date of the course.
