Mrs. Smith-Papp's Announcements
Week of March 30th, 2026
*Happy Easter!*
1. Special Thanks to my Padua Panthers and their Families for their continued prayers as I suffered quite a frightening setback in my surgery recovery. You are on my mind and in my hearts every day and I miss you more than you could ever imagine. Please keep those prayers coming and know that I too, am praying for you. Thank you for everything! You are my heart, my sweet as pie Panthers, and I love you!
2. Happy Holy Week to our Saint Anthony of Padua Regional Catholic School Community! Just think: How beautiful was the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made for us, by dying on the cross for our sins. We are truly so lucky to be blessed with such an amazing example of love and because Jesus did so much for us, it is very important that we emulate His ways in all that we do each day.
3. As we spend this week walking the Way of the Cross with Jesus, let us remember all the pain he endured for us. We must keep in mind that we too, will endure pain in our lives too, but Jesus will always be with us, helping us through the hard, sad, and difficult times. Through prayer and faith in Jesus, we can conquer anything and everything that stands in our way.
4. On Palm Sunday, Jesus triumphantly entered Jerusalem and people all around Him praised His good works and wished to hear His good word however soon, all things would change and unfortunately, they did. This proves that sometimes we do turn away from God, but unlike this people, we have to be strong enough to make sure that our heart finds its way back to His.
5. Holy Thursday brought the Supper of the Lord and also celebrated the evening that Jesus instituted the Priesthood! He enjoyed time with His Apostles and spoke to them with great love as he prepared them for what was to come. When he prayed to His Father later that evening in the Garden of Gethesemane, he was captured by the soildiers were he eventually would meet His unfortunate fate.
6. Jesus spend Good Friday walking the road to Calvary, he struggled more than we could ever imagine. He was crowned with thorns, fell under the cross three times, was spit on, beaten, and mocked. Despite all this though, Jesus never lost His faith in God and stayed strong throughout the journey because of His undying love for us. Jesus inevitably died on the cross at 3:00PM surrounded by he love of His mother, Mary.
7. Jesus was mourned throughout Holy Saturday as people waited and watched to see what would happen. Jesus remained in the tomb and although sad and in great distress His Blessed Mother never left the area. Jesus' disciples, his most faithful followers worked together to prepare how they would move forward without their leader and their guide, but remembered all that they promised Jesus.
8. Mourning quickly turned toJoy upon the arrival of Easter Sunday when, as promised, Jesus resurrected from the dead and restored Faith, Hope, and Love in our hearts! His ultimate sacrifice paved the way for us to follow as Catholics and as Jesus hoped we would, it is very important that we make him proud by being the very best versions of ourselves each and every day.
9. Wishing a Happy and Blessed Easter to my Padua Panthers and their Families! May your holiday tables be surrounded by the love and laughter of your families and friends as you make lasting memories that you will never forget! Be sure to attend Mass either at Saint Nicholas of Tolentine, Annunciation BVM, or your Home Parish! I hope and pray that the Easter Bunny grants all of your Easter Wishes! God bless you!
