MTSS & the Classroom Teacher
Identify students who are considered “At-Risk.”
Identify the problem.
Why is this student considered “At-Risk”?
Is it academics, attendance, or behavior related? (NOTE: Students may be classified with more than 1 concern.)
THERE MUST BE DATA TO BACK IT UP!
Begin Tier 1 Interventions for the “Highest Risk,” then work your way into the “Moderate Risk,” addressing the problem/s identified.
Be sure to DOCUMENT the interventions put into place for a minimum of 4 weeks.
If you do not see progress within 4 weeks of implementing additional Tier 1 interventions, it is time to make a referral to the Problem Solving Team. Use your school's referral form below.
From there, it is now in the hands of our Problem Solving Team, who will develop an Intensive Tier 2 Intervention Plan for the student.
