Our mission is to connect Stanford students passionate about semiconductors with each other and with the industry.
Stanford SSA was founded in 2025 by a group of Stanford students who saw a gap: while Stanford has world-class semiconductor research through facilities like the Stanford Nanofabrication Facility and programs like SystemX Alliance, there wasn't a student community bridging the gap between coursework and industry.
We started with a simple goal: bring together students curious about chips and give them access to the people and places shaping the future of the field. What began as informal discussions has grown into a thriving community of over 100 members spanning undergraduate and graduate programs.
Speaker Series: Hear from engineers, founders, and executives at companies like TSMC, Intel, NVIDIA, Applied Materials, and promising startups
Career Development: Resume reviews, recruiting insights, and connections to internship and full-time opportunities
Technical Workshops: Hands-on sessions covering topics from VLSI design to process engineering
Community: A network of peers who share your interest in this critical technology
Semiconductors power everything: from the laptop you are reading this on to the AI models transforming industries. As the U.S. invests over $50 billion through the CHIPS Act to revitalize domestic chip production, there's never been a more exciting time to build a career in this foundational technology.
The Stanford Semiconductor Alliance connects students passionate about the future of chips with each other, with industry leaders, and with the cutting-edge research happening right here on campus. Whether you're interested in device physics, chip design, manufacturing, or the business side of the semiconductor supply chain, SSA is your community.
We host speaker events with engineers and executives from leading companies, organize visits to fabs and research facilities, and create space for students across MatSci, EE, MSE, Physics, and CS to collaborate and learn from one another.
