We welcome you to submit your research to the first ACM Workshop on Sensing, Communication and Intelligence for Earth (SCI4E 2024). This workshop is a platform for researchers in academia and the industry to present early work in sensing, communication and AI. This includes a focus towards the following applications but is not limited to them:
● Climate
● Conservation
● Food Security (e.g., agriculture, supply chain)
● Freshwater and Oceans
● Sustainability
● Environment
● Community Resilience
We invite researchers to submit their early-stage work and short position papers. We encourage papers that identify fundamental challenges, propose new solutions, compare and provide constructive critique on existing work, share early results on promising new ideas and evaluation. Novel ideas need not be supported by full evaluations; preliminary evaluations with well-reasoned arguments can support the possibility of the paper’s claims. We seek early-stage work, where the authors can benefit from community feedback.
Submission Opportunities:
Technical Papers: up to 6 pages (including everything except references), reporting on novel research, to be presented at the workshop as an oral presentation.
Position/Viewpoint Papers: up to 4 pages (including everything), reporting on new research directions and/or a controversial debate of past research, to be presented at the workshop as a short pitch with interactive discussion, these papers should open up new lines of research or provide context for all SCI4E technologies to consider, the papers will be judged based on how they will spark conversation and debate at the workshop.
Submission Formatting:
The peer review process will be double-blind and the submissions will be treated as confidential during the process.
Submissions should contain 6 or fewer U.S. letter pages in PDF format, including all references, figures and tables. The submissions must meet the following formatting requirements:
Font size no smaller than 10pt.
Font size of the bibliography no smaller than 9pt.
Double column format
You may find these templates useful in complying with the above requirements. For Latex users, please use \documentclass[sigconf,10pt]{acmart}. But as an author, you bear the final responsibility to verify that your submission is format compliant.
