We invite regular paper submissions focusing on topics aligned with safely leveraging foundation models in robotics, which include but are not limited to the following:
Foundation models for robot learning
Efficient fine-tuning and deployment of robotics foundation models
Post-training preference alignment
Out-of-Distribution detection and mitigation
Applications of formal methods in robotics foundation models
Inference-time optimization
Failure discovery
Embodied red teaming
Regular paper format:
4-8 pages excluding acknowledgements, references, and an unlimited appendix.
Please use the ICRA’25 main conference template (IEEE conference style).
Researchers often encounter numerous failures when integrating vision-language models in robotics. These failures, though inspirational and full of valuable lessons, are frequently underrepresented in academic discussions.
Our workshop features a creative failure demo track, which provides a unique platform for students and researchers to showcase various failures they encountered. By doing so, we aim to promote insightful and collaborative discussions about the underlying causes of these failures, as well as potential methods to address them. This open exchange will inspire new ideas, solutions, and approaches, enriching the workshop’s overall learning experience.
Failure demo format:
failure video demonstration + a 1 paragraph - 2 pages technical report (IEEE conference style)
The failure video demonstration should be shared via an accessible link in the technical report
The format of the technical report can be similar to a regular paper or extended abstract, with focus on the demonstrations, analysis, and potential solutions of the failures
To clearly identify submissions to this track, failure demo papers must be titled beginning with the phrase “Failure Demo: <Paper title>”.
Please see the formatting example to the right:
Submission Portal Opens 11:59pm, Feb 21, 2025
Submission Deadline 11:59pm, May 02, 2025 (*PST)
Reviews and Decisions May 11, 2025*
Camera Ready Deadline May 16, 2025
Submission Portal OpenReview
The review process will be single-blind and conducted through OpenReview. The review process will not be public, and only accepted papers will be made publicly available after the conclusion of the review process. Additionally, we encourage authors to submit videos, code, or data in their supplementary material (zip file) or through external services like Github repos.
All accepted regular papers and failure demons will have a spotlight talk to advertise their works, followed by a poster session, which will allow more engaged one-on-one conversations between early-career researchers and senior experts. In particular, we will select four workshop papers to present in a contributed talk session to maximize exposure for the highest-quality contributions. At this time, we are not planning to accommodate any remote presentation options.
*Acceptance decisions for papers submitted before the deadline will be announced starting May 2, 2025, on a rolling basis according to submission date. Decisions regarding presentation format (long oral or spotlight) will be released on May 11, 2025.
Our workshop will feature a best paper and best demo award! More details to come!
