Description

Olallie is a 14’ wood outboard skiff built to the Maud and Emeline plans from Atkin & Co. Built by the current owner and launched in 2008. This traditionally built lapstrake skiff is perfect for exploring and fishing the bays, harbors, and lakes of California.

Olallie is robust for her stated dimensions. She has strong sea faring credentials for a smaller boat and is at home in calm coastal waters as well choppy bays and estuaries. Her wood hull means less noise and vibration than a typical skiff. The increased rocker (bottom curve front to back) reduces pounding in a chop and the high bow helps keep spray out. Her sides are angled out increasing secondary stability and carrying capacity. Olallie feels big and safe compared to a lot of similarly sized aluminum or fiberglass skiffs. I regularly take her out at Tomales Bay where we are usually subjected to strong currents, tides, and chop. Olallie has three seating positions or thwarts (aft, mid and fore) and can comfortably seat up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.
