The goal of the cereal killer project is to automate Ed’s breakfast every morning. Breakfast is one of the most important meals especially when you are living the #vanlife. The cereal killer project offers a quick and automated solution for everyday breakfast.
Often when you are on the road making a heavy breakfast requires a lot of storage as well as time. To make it easier, having a product that stores and dispenses cereal makes your road trips even more enjoyable.
Ed wakes up and activates the cereal killer device by ringing a bell loud enough.
After the bell rings the device displays a welcome message on the LCD screen.
A passage of time is displayed on the dial where the clock arm moves with the help of the servo.
The LCD screen prompts Ed to select the desired cereal.
Ed uses 1 of 2 select buttons to choose if he either wants strawberry or Choco.
A non-contact opto-reflective sensor detects the bowl when placed in the designated area. It lights a green LED on the correct placement, and red otherwise.
The device asks the user to select the amount of cereal using a dial.
The dial is turned to choose the quantity of cereal.
Pressing the latching button reads the potentiometer and sets the cereal dispenser timer accordingly.
The device dispenses the selected quantity of cereal.
A buzzer rings to alert the user when the cereal is ready.
The buzzer continues until the user picks up the bowl and the user presses the latching button.
Upon bowl pickup, the device displays a "GoodBye" message.
