Jon Dearing - Vice President of Strategy and Public Affairs for National Cement Company of California, Jon Dearing is a key representative and advocate for the cement industry's climate and policy initiatives. He plays a central role in the company's efforts to decarbonize its operations, including acting as the public contact for the Lebec Net-Zero Project. This project, California's first potential carbon-neutral cement facility, seeks to integrate carbon capture technology and utilize cleaner fuels to produce low-carbon cement.Â
Dearing represents National Cement at industry events, such as the Future of CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage) Summit, and advocates for climate technology like limestone calcined clay cement (LC3). He also engages with government agencies and other industry leaders to promote the cement industry's investments in new technologies that strengthen domestic manufacturing. Before joining National Cement, Dearing gained experience in the industry as a Vice President at Cemex USA and in a strategic role at AECOM.
