John O'Donnell - John O’Donnell is the co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Rondo Energy, a company that builds industrial heat batteries to provide low-cost, zero-carbon heat and power by using intermittent wind and solar energy. He has over 30 years of experience in bringing novel technological solutions from laboratories to large-scale industrial operations across the energy, semiconductor, and supercomputer industries.
Prior to Rondo Energy, O'Donnell co-founded GlassPoint Solar, a leading provider of solar industrial process heat, and founded Ausra, Inc., a company focused on solar thermal and electric systems. He started his career as a lead engineer at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, where he worked on technology for fusion experiments. O'Donnell has published numerous technical papers and holds over 20 patents. He earned a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Yale University. His current efforts at Rondo Energy are centered on utilizing heat batteries to decarbonize heavy industries, with the goal of developing scalable systems for carbon-intensive sectors.
