Frances Yang - Frances is a structures and sustainability specialist at Arup, where she leads the Americas Sustainable Materials Consulting practice. In her role, she promotes the use of low-carbon, healthy, and circular design principles in the built environment. A dedicated leader and mobilizer within the sustainable construction movement, Yang has contributed to several industry initiatives. She co-leads coalition-building efforts through Arup's long-term partnership with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and co-founded the All for Reuse initiative, which aims to create demand and infrastructure for reusing commercial tenant improvement materials. Yang has also served on the Carbon Leadership Forum board, vice-chaired the Structural Engineers 2050 (SE 2050) Commitment, and vice-chaired the US Green Building Council's (USGBC) Materials and Resources Technical Advisory Group (MR TAG). Her work includes authoring the American Society of Civil Engineers' (ASCE) Whole Building LCA Guide and co-authoring "Prescription for Healthier Building Materials" for the American Institute of Architects (AIA).Â
