JACQUES DE CHALENDAR - Jacques de Chalendar is a researcher in the Stanford Energy Science and Engineering department. He researches new efficiency and flexibility options on the "demand" side of our energy systems, to improve their operations, reduce infrastructure requirements, and reduce the cost and investment required to electrify and decarbonize our energy infrastructure. He creates 1) mathematical models of integrated energy systems; 2) computational tools to design and operate them in new ways; and 3) software prototypes to conduct real-world efficiency and flexibility experiments with cyber-physical systems.
