"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all." 2 Corinthians 13:13
The parish office is open Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Join us for Mass every weekend at the 4:00 pm (vigil) Mass on Saturday, or on Sunday at 9:00 am, 11:00 am, or 5:00 pm.
On this Holy Trinity Sunday we celebrate the single greatest mystery of God Himself revealed to us through Jesus Christ: God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This revelation of the inner life of God could only come from God Himself. Who else could know God’s inner life? It is one of the many great gifts bestowed upon humanity when the Second Person of the Trinity took on our human nature, Jesus Christ. There is much that can be meditated upon, though precise articulation of this mystery can easily elude us. How does one translate a divine reality into finite human language? Not with precision but rather with a myriad of aspects which reflect the greater.
So, it has stood as the true Faith, as revealed to Abraham, that God is One and there is no other. This is the external outlook, if you will, of God. There is no other Creator, no other deity, no other Eternal Being without beginning or end. Yet, there is still much more to God than meets the mortal finite eye of perception. For there is an interior Life within God, a mystery hidden for ages until the coming of the Son. The Son reveals to us the Father, for only the Son knows the Father. The love that is given and received between the Father and the Son is the Holy Spirit.
Something that we can meditate upon is knowing that humanity is created in the Image and Likeness of God. Therefore, and this follows many wonderfully inspired writers, such as St. Augustine, that like God we too have an inner life. This we call the soul. The soul is the inner person whom we choose to reveal to others. It is important that we understand that we are not only our body. We are a united whole: body and soul. This is vital because we need to understand proper care for both our body and our soul to have a healthy integration within ourselves.
A place where healthy integration can always begin, or be renewed is in prayer. Prayer is when we draw into our soul, our inner room as Our Lord Jesus described it. There we encounter the One who has made His abode since our Baptism, the Holy Trinity. Drawing into our inner life brings us to journey into the inner life of God. Just as when you enter one’s home you encounter the entire family waiting to welcome you in.
