Fifth Sunday of Ordinary Time
Fifth Sunday of Ordinary Time
"Thus says the LORD: Share your bread with the hungry." Isaiah 58:7
The parish office is open Monday thru Friday from 8:00am to 7:00pm, on Saturdays from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
Join us for Mass every weekend at the 4:00pm (vigil) Mass on Saturday, or on Sunday at 9:00am, 11:00am, or 5:00pm.
Dear St. Andrew Parish,
In this weekend’s bulletin you will find the Annual Report for the 2025 fiscal year. It is important for me as your new Pastor to keep you apprised of how our parish, which includes both church and school, is operating financially. This is both in compliance with best practices directed by the Archdiocese and with Sacred Scriptures itself; in St. Paul’s writings to church communities and their leaders, he specifically speaks about being good stewards of what God has entrusted to them (Colossians & Thessalonians). I am grateful to our Parish Business Manager, Esperanza Benavides, who has assisted me in coming to understand the financial status of our parish, as well as to our Finance Council, who has generously given their time to reconvene and establish what Canon Law mandates to be the advisory council to myself and our principal, Sarah Casavechia. I am also grateful to those who have assisted in the interim before my appointment as Pastor.
We are a strong parish community with much potential. The Annual Report will reflect where the parish has been. I would like to assure you of my efforts and investment as your new Pastor in both our church and our school going forward into this new year. We are one community in Christ, as together we make up St. Andrew Parish.
In addition to the annual financial report that you will find below, I want you to be aware of how our Parish community is growing and being formed in our sacramental life:
Sacramental Records 2025 2024
Baptisms 42 40
First Communions 52 98
Confirmations 65 58
We have a very involved faith community, which has been a huge delight to get to know and see grow. We have three active women’s groups which meet regularly, including our Mom’s Rosary group who meet before School Masses, our Mom’s Bible study, and our brand-new Multigenerational Women’s group which meets after School Masses. Just recently, we have a School Dad’s group which looks to provide social and project-oriented gatherings for our community, as well as a new Men’s Spirituality group, Patris Corde.
There is not only sacramental life and faith-sharing abounding in our community with new rigor but also a transformation of our campus! Since my arrival, we have had two very successful cleaning-out projects, bringing the Rectory and Parish Office back up to a more respectable level of overall condition. Another new group which has had a tremendous hand in shaping our campus is the Sacred Grounds Committee which has beautified the front of the parish office, as well as begun to reimagine the potential of our parish courtyard in between the church and Rectory.
It is thanks to your love for our parish and dedication that such an exciting new chapter in our Parish has taken off!
In cordibus Jesu et Mariae,
Fr. Hank Lyon
