Barbara Matovu holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama and Minor in Spanish from the UNC Greensboro. A New York City theater artist, Barbara has worked as an actress, assistant director, and teaching artist. As an actress, she played Delia Malvern in Stranger Than a Rhino at the 2018 New York International Fringe Festival. Barbara is currently writing one-woman show called Taata about her father, an immigrant from Uganda. As a work-in-progress, sections have been read at Naked Angels’ Tuesdays@9. The opening excerpt of the piece was selected as a part of the 2017 Push Grant Showcase performed at Mark O’Donnell Theater at the Actors Fund Arts Center in Brooklyn.
