Freda Mattea

(She/They)(General Manager / Co-Creator / Director)

Freda Mattea graduated from the Eugene O’Neill National Musical Theatre Institute and has spent her life traveling between New York City and Nantucket, MA. She began her career as an actress and stage manager and is thrilled to be part of Standby for Places and help make theatre more accessible to everyone. She has directed The Importance of Being Earnest and An Ideal Husband by Oscar Wilde for Standby for Places, and some of her other works include Auntie Mame (On The Isle, Production Manager), Home for the Holidays (Theatre Workshop of Nantucket, Line Producer).

Margie Zarcone

(She/Her)(Co-Creator / Director / Head of Social Media)

Margie primarily considered herself an actor before co-creating Standby For Places. Now, she is an actor, director, writer, and the manager of the SFP Instagram. Margie’s goal with Standby for Places was to keep herself and her friends busy, happy and creatively stimulated. With SFP Margie has played Cecily Cardew in The Importance of Being Earnest, Mrs. Marchmont in An Ideal Husband, Margaret/Katie/Grandmother and others in Woyzeck, and Princess Lena in Leonce and Lena. In addition, she adapted and directed A Christmas Carol where she also served as the Narrator. She wishes to continue to network with and learn from every artist she works with. She hopes you enjoy the fruits of our labor. Margie is a proud graduate of Marist College and the Actors Studio Drama School where she earned an MFA in Acting. Graydon Gund

(He/Him)(Co-Creator / Director)

Graydon Gund is a New York City based director, dramaturge, producer, and sometimes sound designer. Thrilled to be exploring new ways of telling stories while we wait to hear the stage manager call us back to places. So far on Standby he’s directed Woyzeck and looking forward to more! He’s worked at The White Heron Theatre, Long Wharf, and Theater for a new Audience and directed some shows like Good Grief (Athena Theater), Misterman (Room15), Nantucket! Dunya J. Karam

(She/Her)(New Works Coordinator / Director)

Dunya J. Karam is a New York based freelance theatre artist and founder of Outlet Ensemble. During this unique transitional period she is honored to be working with Standby for Places and creating through the not-so-retro-after-all medium of radio plays! Some of her favorite titles she’s worked on include a devised piece entitled this is not a play with the Untitled Theatre Collective, Gruesome Playground Injuries, Uncle Vanya, and A Curvy Cabaret, I Want to Eat Brains and more! Benjamin Mandell

(He/Him)(Creative Team / Director)

Benjamin is an NYC-based actor, with a BA in Theater from Colgate University and an MFA from the Actors Studio Drama School. Some of his theatrical credits include When We Were Young and Unafraid (IATI Theater, 2017), A Christmas Story (Breckenridge Backstage Theare, 2019), and The Great Gatsby (BBT, 2020). He is thrilled to be a part of the Standby for Places team, after providing his voice for A Christmas Carol and Peter Rabbit, and directing the recent production of Tartuffe. He looks forward to expanding and developing SFP's reach and audience, while also contributing to its ever-growing catalogue of audio-based storytelling. Find him on Instagram at @__leppo
