All the point values are subject to change with prior notice given by the teacher to students.
Homework = 10 points
Weekly Quizzes = 15-20 points (depending on the length and unit of study) given at the end of every week
Unit Tests= 50-100 Points (depending on the length and unit of study), will be given at the end of every unit (usually every 2-3 weeks)
Essay / Writing Tests = 50 Points, these will be given as part of your unit tests.
In Class Notes = 100 Points (Collected at the end of the unit)
Unit Vocabulary = Points will depend on the list of vocabulary words for that unit of study (Average of 20 points)
Video Notes = Points will depend on the unit of study (Average of 20 points)
Class Discussion = 30 points (10 for initial posts, 20 for replying to classmates)
Term Research Projects = points will be determined based on the amount of time and the unit of study (Average of 200 points)
Extra Credit will be given at the teachers discretion (point value will vary)
Class Participation = Points will be awarded based on class participation both in person in the classroom and online as part of the digital classroom
Name, Date, Period, and Assignment number or heading = All in the upper right hand corner of the paper.
All papers without the proper heading will not be graded.
Digital Files Should be named with your last name first, then assignment name or number, date.
Any file submitted without this naming structure will not be graded.
90% and Above = A
80% - 89% = B
70% - 79% = C
60% - 69% = D
Below 60% = F
We will be using Google Classroom during this class
Assignments will be posted to the classwork tab
Daily Schedule will be posted on the Stream
The Digital Classroom is an extension of the in person classroom, so all rules apply
You will find guides for citation of sources on the site as well as your first day packet
Our Digital Classroom endeavors to be ADA compliant and is a constant work in progress
If you see something that is wrong or you have trouble accessing any materials in this classroom let the teacher know immediately and it will be taken care of to make sure you have the materials and resources that you need.

You will be issued a Chromebook to use while you are here.
You will be responsible for this device and its use during your tenure in this class
You will need the internet to complete most assignments for this class
If you do not have stable internet away from school please let the teacher know they will work with you to find alternative solutions.
Work is late if it is not turned in at the appointed time as stated by the teacher
Late Work will not be accepted
You have one day for every day that you are absent to make up any work that you have missed.
You are responsible for coming to the teacher at appointed times to get the work for the days that you have missed
Talk to the Teacher about missing work: BEFORE or AFTER School, BEFORE or AFTER Class, or LUNCH. Teacher will not talk about missing work during class.
You will be called on to complete original research and work.
You will be held accountable to the idea that the work that you turn in is your own work and not someone else’s.
You must cite your sources as well as any other places or people that you use in your work.
Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action.
Cheating will not be tolerated.
If you need extra help there is after school tutoring and study hall.
Times for study hall will be posted in class as well as in our online classroom.

You are required to cite all sources of research that you use in this class according to the MLA format. Make sure that every time you use information, quotes, pictures, videos, or other research from any source it is cited following the MLA style. We will practice this throughout the year. When in doubt refer to the citation guides here or those found in the resources page in our online classroom. For more information or any type of sources that is not listed here you can always check the Online Writing Lab at Purdue University. This is a free resources that has everything that you would need as a research writer for proper style and citation.
These resources are to help you during your online discussions. These guides will help you learn the rules and regulations for having a productive and safe online discussion. The ADA Guides will help you when you are creating content to be shared with the public to make sure that you are doing it in a way that makes sure that everyone can access the information that you have to share. Copies of these documents are part of your first day packet as well as in the digital classroom and here in PDF form.
