INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC
Mission
Instrumental music enriches lives by fostering creativity, discipline, and emotional expression. It cultivates collaboration, strengthens critical thinking, and connects people across cultures and generations. Through the study and performance of instrumental music, students gain skills that inspire lifelong learning, personal growth,
and a deeper appreciation for the power of the arts.
My mission is to inspire students through instrumental music, cultivating creativity, discipline, and teamwork. By learning, practicing, and performing together, students gain confidence, build lasting connections,
and develop skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
About me
My name is Seth Goldstein, and I’ve been teaching music at Strawberry Hill School since our inaugural year in 2016. I currently serve as the Band Director and teach instrumental music.
At Strawberry Hill, we’ve grown our instrumental music program to include Concert Bands, Guitar Ensembles, Select Ensembles, and Rock & Pop Bands. Strawberry Hill's International Baccalaureate program enables our student musicians to develop as Risk Takers during performances and remain Open-Minded as they explore music from a wide range of cultures throughout the year.
I hold a Master’s degree in Music Education from the University of Bridgeport and a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Composition from SUNY Purchase College. My primary instrument is the guitar.
Outside of Strawberry Hill, I enjoy playing in my band, Taco Wednesday, teaching private music lessons, as well as surfing, playing hockey, and going to concerts. I'm very excited to continue growing our music program in 2025–26!
Let's have an awesome year!
Sincerely,
Mr. Goldstein
