Now that your child has gotten started with an instrument, you may be wondering where you go from here. There are a multitude of resources in our area for students who love music.
At Turn of River Middle School, students can participate in the school band, which meets as a regular class, or the strings program, which meets once a week during school. Students can also try out for the jazz band, that meets once a week after school.
At Westhill High School, students can participate in band or orchestra as an elective class, as well as Marching Band, Winter Percussion, and Jazz ensemble as extra-curricular activities.
There are also a number of options for pursuing music outside of school, including a variety of music schools and private teachers for lessons, as well as youth performance groups such as the Stamford Young Artisits Philharmonic, Norwalk Youth Symphony, and Chamber Music Central.
