Hello and welcome to 7th grade science.  I'm looking forward to working together this year as we investigate, experiment, and learn about the ways things work in the world around us.

Class Expectations: Every day you must come prepared to work and give 100% effort!! -- Class time will be divided into four categories. Depending on what we are working on, we will follow one of the categories below. 

Class Discussion This happens when we take notes or go over any work - Teacher directs conversation - One student speaks at a time - Other students sit still and listen to each other - Students will raise their hand if they have a question or comment 

Partner Work This happens when a teacher asks you to turn and speak with a partner, or you complete a mini-project - Students whisper with their partner - Partners treat each other with respect and work together to complete their task

 Independent work This happens when you complete a worksheet, read an article, or take a test - Students focus silently to complete their work - Students raise their hand if they have a question 

Group work This happens when we complete a lab activity or have in class competitions - Students will work at their tables - Each student will have a role - Students will cooperate with each other to work as a team We will practice working in the different settings together at first. It is expected that you follow these guidelines!
