Get to Know Daisy

Thank you for adopting Daisy from Reinhardt Dairy Farm! Like all milking cows, this calf is a girl. In this photo, she's two weeks old, weighs about 80 pounds, and is growing fast! She is a member of a 240-cow herd on our farm and is one of the nearly 10 million dairy cows who live in the United States.

Your calf is raised in a small house called a hutch, where we make sure she gets the special care and nutrition she needs. Her hutch is close to other hutches so she can see and hear other baby cows. She drinks 1 gallon of a special kind of milk every day to build up her immune system. Like human babies, she drinks from a bottle. She has lots of energy and loves to play!
