Dear Parents, 

         Week of September 21-25.     Remember NO SCHOOL Friday September 25th. 

RELIGION We are moving to Chapter 3: Our Church Shows Us How to Live. For our Baptism Posters, I am waiting to see if our new friend will be baptized soon so he will have Baptism pictures to add to his poster.   We will hear the story of the Good Samariatan do create puppets to retell the story. 

Harmony: Our lessons will include the “Silent Squeeze” game and the discussion question, “Where is your favorite place to go when you want quiet or alone time?”

We will also discuss our Mass Reflection. The reflection sheet will come home Friday, October 2nd and will be due the following

Monday.

MATH We are on Chapter 2: Counting Patterns. We will review counting by 1s, 5s, and 10s with numbers less than 100. We will

practice counting up and down by 10 with the fun game “I Have, Who Has?”

SOCIAL STUDIES We are still Social Studies Detectives! We will look at things from the past and use clues to help us learn about the past. We will also read a Scholastic News called “Oops!” that shows us how making a mistake is a way to learn.

SCIENCE We will explore two Scholastic Science Spin topics: “Is a Scientist Smarter Than a Squirrel?” and “Cute or Creepy?”

READING Our story is The Great Fuzz Frenzy. Because we do not have school Friday, this module will be two weeks long. Reading

and Vocabulary Tests: Friday, October 2nd.

SPELLING Worksheets come home Monday, September 21st and are due Tuesday, September 29th. Spelling test Friday October 2nd.

FUNDATIONS We are learning -ind, -ild, -ost, and -old, along with ay, ai, ee, ey, oi, and oy.
