Dear Parents, 

         Week of Novmeber 9th-13th .  Remember: Field Trip Tuesday. Students should wear gym uniforms  with gym shoes.  We will be outside most of the day so, dress for the weather.  Bring a brown bag lunch, and a water bottle or juice box that can be thrown out.  I do have brown bags if you do not have one for the day.

RELIGION;  Starting Chapter 6: “Celebrating God’s Forgiveness”  We will be wrapping up the chapter.  There will be a test Thursday November 12th.  On Monday there will be a Kahoot on the Chapter to help them study.  We will be playing the “Buzzer” game to review in class. On Friday we will be praying the Rosary. 

Harmony:  We will be using the communication cards:  Students will be asked a question, for example: What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?  Other students will ask that student questions about that favorite Thanksgiving dish.  The communication cards are to help students listen to other questions so as not to repeat the same question. The students answering the question will need to communicate in a clear way so we can ask more questions. Friday we will be brainstorming on what we are Thankful for.  

MATH:  We start chapter 4:  We will be identifying even and odd numbers. Solving problems about equal groups. Explain why an even number can be shown as the sum of two equal groups. 

SOCIAL STUDIES  Scholastice News magazine: “Do you know a Veteran?  Through the magazine we will listen to Veterans answer questions.

SCIENCE:  What is Technology?  We wil define the term technology.  Identify how technology influences everyday life and how we depend on it.  Explain how the use of technology can affect the environment.  Recognize the benefits and risks of new technology. 

READING:  Wrapping up  Module 3 Week 2.  Story “The Gingerbread for Liberty “.  Matching the vocabulary words to definitions.  Working on a Vocabulary Quest page.  There will be a Kahoot in Google Classroom Monday.  There will be 3,  2 for Vocabulary matching and find the correct vocabulary word to complete the sentence.  A Comprehension kahoot on the story.  

SPELLING Worksheets are still due Friday November 13th.  We will be taking the test on Thursday November 12th.  We will be meeting our 4th grade buddies on Friday to hear a Thanksgiving story, and make pumpkin pie cups.  

FUNDATIONS We are finishing Unit 6: Review vowel consonant e syllables. Spelling option procedure two syllable words with closed and vowel consonant e syllables, compound words. Vowel consonant e exception (ive)  suffix ive.  We will be playing a game called “Make it Fun”  . Students will get part of a multisyllable word.  They will need to find the other part of that word to make the word complete.  For example:  someone will have um  someone will have pire.  They will need to come together to make the word.  Umpire.
