If you are new to LAMDA or unsure what it is; it is an accredited examination in which students take on additional acting classes during school time working towards exam pieces to be performed to a LAMDA panel.
Students will learn by heart one or two monologues and work on knowledge. Lessons will be focused on diction, speech, development of the character, movement during the scene and total understanding of the situation, emotions, interaction with other characters in the scene and set of the scene. As your child works through the grades, they can gain UCAS points which help towards university entry.
LAMDA offers an ongoing measurement of speech & drama progress which benchmarks every stage of a student's development. They support a steady improvement in self confidence, vocal and physical technique.
The exams are created to suit abilities of children of all ages, from a young child being able to recite a short poem from memory, to a teenager delivering a meaningful Shakespearean monologue - all ages and abilities should be celebrated and recognised with national recognised qualifications.
We will care about the whole preparation and learning process and you just have to deliver yoru child to the exam public centre in Leeds to take the LAMDA exam. Its very friendly and supportive examination board.
LAMDA certificates are very well recognised in the world and bring your child UCAS points for high grades which makes a big difference when applying for higher education.
