Are you interested in being on the stage crew for any of our shows this year? Fill out the STAGE CREW SIGN-UP FORM. Make sure to read the commitment dates carefully.

International Thespian Society Membership

If you would like to join the International Thespian Society, the world’s largest honor society for theater arts students, you can use the form below to report your theater activities, for which ponts towards membership and honors will be awarded.

• Activities must be submitted for points to be awarded we do not automatically award points.

• If you are new to theater at Stafford, please submit all past activities now, in August, so we can begin your record. New activities can then be submitted as they occur. (Please try not wait until April to submit your activities.)

• Current members should report new activities so your points towards honors can be recorded.

• Activities must be reported by Friday,  April 10 to be counted towards this year's new membership and honors. (This date will be your last chance to submit activities for the year!)

If you would like to be considered for stage crew, you must fill out a new Stafford Players Stage Crew Sign-Up 2025-26 form by January 26.

We will not consider anyone who has not filled out a new form (new as in 2026.)

Production Information

INFORMATIONAL / PRE-AUDITION MEETING: Tuesday, January 13 (2:15-4pm)

This meeting is for those interested in being CAST or STAGE CREW. At this meeting, actors interested in being in the CAST will learn about how the auditions will work, and have a chance to work on the audition song of your choice with Mr. Eveler. You will also have the opportunity to learn and practice the dance audition combo. For those interested in STAGE CREW, you will get necessary forms and this will be an opportunity for you to introduce yourself nd let us know why you are interested in stage crew and what you are most interested in doing.

AUDITIONS: Wednesday, January 14 (2:15pm-5:00pm)

CALL-BACK AUDITIONS: Thursday, January 22 (2:15pm-5:00pm)

Students will be invited to the Call-back Auditions based on the initial auditions.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

• ACTING: Performance of a monologue of your choice from the provided SECRET GARDEN Audition Monologues. Students should practice the monologue prior to auditions. The purpose of the monologue is for you to show us your range as an actor, so make sure to work on the the character's arc through the piece. It does not have to be memorized, but memorization is recommended for you to give your best performance focusing on the character and their journey through the monologue. You can use the script at the audition if you prefer to do so.

• SINGING: Students will perform their choice from the provided song options. Students should use the provided tracks to prepare this song on their own. The songs will be reviewed at the informational meeting, and then reviewed at auditions.

• DANCE: Students will learn and perform a short, basic dance combination. This is to give us an idea what dance skills you already possess, as well as how you do with learning a new dance.

  • THE DANCE AUDITION VIDEO IS POSTED BELOW UNDER THE STAFFORD PLAYERS FILES.

• STUDENTS SHOULD BE DRESSED TO MOVE AT AUDITIONS.

• STUDENT PARTICIPATION & PARENT NOTIFICATION FORM:

  • • EVERYONE MUST COMPLETE AND TURN IN THIS FORM!

    • In order to be considered for casting or stage crew for this play, a student must submit a completed Student Participation and Parent Notification Form. NO STUDENT WILL BE CAST OR ADDED TO CREW WITHOUT SUBMITTING THIS FORM. 

• CAST DUE DATE: Monday, January 19.

• STAGE CREW DUE DATE: Friday, January 30. 

NOTE TO PARENTS REGARDING THE PARENT MEETING & VOLUNTEERING:

Your student has auditioned for The Secret Garden – the Stafford High School spring musical. If they are cast, we ask that you attend the Virtual Parent Meeting on Tuesday, February 17 at 7pm. The purpose of this meeting is to organize support for this production. Without the support of parents, we would be unable to provide great opportunities for students in theater at Stafford High School.

PROGRAM ADVERTISEMENT SALES:

An important fundraising component for the Stafford High School Theater Department is the sale of advertisement space in the program for our spring musical, The Secret Garden. Therefore, cast and crew members of The Secret Garden will be asked to sell THREE (3) Program Advertisements.

PUBLICITY EXPECTATIONS:

Students in the CAST & CREW will be expected to participate in promotional activities (hanging up posters, banners, etc.) on their own time. More details to come!

REGULAR REHEARSALS:

Cast will begin rehearsals on February 2.

Crew will begin attending rehearsals on Thursday, April 9.

AFTER-SCHOOL REHEARSALS INCLUDE: 

Monday - Friday, February 2 - April 25 (until 6pm the week of April 20)

*We will not rehearse during school holidays.

NON-SCHOOL DAY REHEARSALS INCLUDE: 

Saturdays (10am-5pm unless noted):

February 28, March 14, March 21, April 11, April 18 (until 2pm), April 25

DRESS REHEARSALS: 

Monday - Thursday, April 27 - April 30 (2:15-7pm)

Wednesday - Thursday, May 6-7 (2:15- 7pm)

PERFORMANCES:

Friday May 1 (7pm) and Saturday May 2 (2pm & 7pm)

Stafford High School International Thespian Society Graduation Honor Cord Policy

In order to be eligible for a Thespian Graduation Honor Cord, a student must be a member of the International Thespian Society AND participate in at least one Stafford High School Theater production during their senior year. This can include acting in a play/musical, stage crew for a play/musical, house crew for ALL PERFORMANCES of a play/musical, and/or being a member of the improv team.
