Stafford Public Schools
Summer Learning 2024
Dear Families,
As the school year winds down, it’s time to think about summer learning! Continuity of learning is important to prevent summer learning loss. Studies show students lose a portion of the skills and knowledge they gained during the school year if they do not practice reading and numeracy over the summer. Once again, West Stafford and Stafford Elementary School will partner with the Stafford Public Library to participate in the Governor’s Summer Reading Challenge: “Read, Renew, Repeat” and the Commissioner’s Summer Math Challenge: “Blast Off to Math Success.” As a district, we have created a Summer Learning website for students entering Kindergarten through Grade 5, including activities for Reading, Math, and Science. Please use the tabs above labeled by grade band to access all summer learning resources. If you would prefer paper copies of the Literacy and Mathematics calendars, they are available in the main office of your child’s school as well as the Stafford Public Library. Happy learning!
