Course #: HTED115S | 0.5 Credit Grades 9-12 This introductory graphic design course offers students a comprehensive foundation in the principles, tools, and practices of visual communication. Through a combination of hands-on projects, design theory, and software training, students will explore the art and science of graphic design while developing their creative problem-solving skills.
Course #: 6678 | 1.0 Credit FY Grades 9-12 In this course students will be introduced to game and web design through the creation of historical games and video games as well as the development of basic websites. Students will begin the course by exploring the games of ancient cultures. Students will get hands-on experience with 21st century technology and skills by developing prototypes of each historical game and then playing those games to understand the game mechanics. Using 2D video game software, students will also use professional game design skills such as programming, graphic design, animation, testing and debugging to create playable video games. In addition to game design skills students will be introduced to the professional web design skills needed to design, create, and enhance web pages for personal and business use.
Course #: 6645 | 0.5 Credit Grades 9-12 Learn the 3D modeling techniques used in movies, visual effects, video games, cartoons, commercials, and animation! Using 3D Max, you will work in this highly skill-based art form to manipulate and sculpt pure imagination into substantial forms. 3D Max is professional 3D modeling, rendering, and animation software that enables you to create expansive worlds and premium designs. If you have an interest in expansive gaming worlds or visualize intricate architectural designs, 3D modeling and animation with 3D Max is the software to bring your ideas to life.
