A Note from Coach Chupe:

Hello!  My name is Cheryl Chupe (pronounced Choo-pee), and I am so excited that you are exploring the idea of joining Academic Decathlon!

I have been teaching at The Colony High School since August 2005, and I really do feel like this school is my home.  At TCHS, I have taught English, history, and Academic Decathlon.

I am absolutely, 100% one of those nerdy people who really does love learning.  I love to read and I always find my curiosity leading me down a research rabbit hole.

On a personal note, I have been married for 17 years, and I have two wonderful (and crazy) children, Isaac (13) and Faith (9), who attend school in Frisco Independent School District.

A Note from Coach Byrne:

Hi there! My name is Peter Byrne (pronounced beern), and I am absolutely loving my first year teaching Academic Decathlon!

I taught mathematics in the private sector for 3 years prior to moving to TCHS. For the past 4 years, I have truly enjoyed teaching here and feel that this is where I belong.

In addition to teaching math and AcDec, I am also the sponsor of the TCHS chess club. I am a life-long learner and love the challenge of learning alongside the students I am teaching.

I have been married for 12 years and have two crazy kids, Kyla and JP. Kyla just started kindergarten this year and JP will be starting next year. I look forward to meeting you and discussing what AcDec has to offer!
