The library is the heart of every campus, right in the middle and the ultimate source of information. It is a learning commons for everyone in the building. Libraries provide resources for everyone that will help them become successful. Since technology has become a big part of our everyday lives, makerspace has become a library movement because it is our role to include and teach anyone who wants to learn. Makerspace simply means you become a "maker" using different types of objects including technology, cardboard, paper, legos, etc. The possibilities are endless. Students use their own creativity, critical thinking, and inquiry skills to "make" and create different things depending on the challenge. It encourages teamwork and helps them build 21st century skills.
At Parkway all students are given opportunities to participate in Makerspace. The five inquiry centers are Builder, Coder, Maker, Artist, and STEM.
