Along with most teachers, I am a continual learner embracing opportunities to expand my professional network by communicating, problem solving, creating, and growing along with other educators near and far to better serve my students. I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas. I am certified in elementary and special education with endorsements in ESL and Mathematics and a principal certification.
I have 27 years of teaching experience in Lewisville ISD. This is my fifth year as a Science Discovery/STEM teacher, and I love inspiring all of the OSE student scientists. I have served LISD also as a special education and 3rd and 4th grade teacher. As an LISD Science and Math curriculum writer, I have worked with district and teacher leaders to insure we have a viable and rigorous living document that provides goal-driven, enriching learning opportunities. Although this year we will be trail blazing unprecedented paths, I look forward to guiding our students in the science inquiry process and helping them develop a love for science.
I have two grown sons, Tyler, an elite hockey and athletic performance coach, and Bo, an engineering project manager, both graduates of Marcus High School. I live with my husband, my dog, Buddy, and cat, Mr. Kitty, in Highland Village. In my free time, I enjoy walking, cooking, watching hockey, and reading.
